Ok so my main consern right now is that I don't know how importaint a heater is for this tank. My local aquaria shop owner told me to be safe, so I went out and bought a heater. My tank is still going thru the shipping phase (has not been passed on to UPS yet) so I have plenty of time to get these questions.

my main plan was to fill up the tank with all the live rock/live sand I needed, and watch the temp for a couple days to see how much it fluxuates, and if it gets too hot for my fish. I believe the ideal temperature for fish is 78-80 and a large shift in temperature (4 degrees) is bad? Keep in mind I am talking about Ferinheit lol. idk if i spelled that right, but I was wondering if anyone here can help me out with this specific tank. I keep the temp in my house at around 75 degrees. I plan to keep it in a spot that does not get direct sunlight.

I also wondered if there are any limitations in terms of growing corals with the stock HGI lights that my BioCube is comming equiped with.

I will probably need a lot more questions asked when my tank comes and I am getting it ready for fish/corals so feel free to post ANY tips/knowlegde on nano-reef keeping, it will help me a LOT!

If you plan on keeping your house around 75 degrees all the time I dont think you will need a heater or a chiller.  Since I dont have the AC on all the time i probably will buy a chiller before the summer gets here.  And now that winter is coming I might invest in a heater to keep the tank solid at a temperature of 78 degrees. During the day theres no need for a heater because the light provides plenty of it. but at night the temp drops to about 75/74 degrees.

With metal halide lights you can get any coral/fish/clam you desire.

sweet thanks. I bought a heater just in case, so I'll probably stick that thing in my tank so the night-time temp dosn't drop below 76-77.

as long as you keep it around 75 at night your golden because then when the light turns on it will stay at a solid 78
